Iraq Reveals New Oil Export Pipeline System To Turkey

Iraqi Oil Minister Thamir Ghadhban announced that a new pipeline system has been established to export Iraqi oil to Turkey, according to Mubasher.

The Oil Minister confirmed that Iraq is keen to strengthen bilateral relations with neighboring Turkey in all areas, including the energy sector and oil.

This came during a press conference held by Ghadhban, with his Turkish counterpart, Fatih Donmaz, after the end of a joint meeting between the two sides.

The press conference tackled projects of common interest, including the new Iraqi oil export pipeline system (Kirkuk – Ceyhan), which has reached an advanced stage of technical preparation, in addition to tenders, which is within the plans and executive projects for next year.

The two ministers also discussed the pipeline project (Rumaila – Aqaba), which is part of the important strategic projects, aiming to perpetuate Iraqi oil exports.

Ghadban confirmed that it was agreed to form a technical committee from both sides to discuss issues that fall within the priorities of joint work and make the necessary recommendations to serve the interests of both countries.
