Phase 19 of Iran’s South Pars gas field so far has produced nearly 5.5bcm of natural gas, announced the Executive Manager of the Development Project of the Phase, Hamidreza Massoudi.
Massoudi stated that the efforts made by domestic experts to implement the development plan of phase 19 are praiseworthy since it has made significant progress, reported Tasnim News.
The production of butane and propane started in Phase 19, therefore about 14 tons/h of butane and propane are produced, reported Iran Daily.
Massoudi explained that around 5.5bcm of gas have been produced in the phase and injected into the national gas network.
The South Pars gas field’s development was divided into 28 phases. It is is located in the Persian Gulf straddling the maritime border between Iran and Qatar. The field’s Iranian section was estimated to contain 14tcm of gas and 18bb of condensates in place.
In related news, Iran was looking to raise production capacity from joint fields with Iraq by more than 10% in the first quarter of the next fiscal year that begins in March, a senior oil official said.
