Iran’s RIPI Signs MoU for Studying Gas reserves in Oman Sea

The Iranian Research Institute of Petroleum Industry (RIPI) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Iranian National Institute for Oceanography and Atmospheric Science to cooperate in studying gas hydrate resources in Oman Sea, Tehran Times stated, quoting Shana.
This project has been awarded to RIPI by the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) in the Iranian calendar year 1397 (March 2018). RIPI was supposed to work on this project in collaboration with NIOC’s Exploration Department through a four-year program.
On this Occasion, the Head of RIPI, Jafar Tofiqi praised this cooperation, deeming it as “valuable” due to being for a national project. “Considering the energy capacities of the country on land and sea, fortunately, exploration projects are among the important programs of the Oil Ministry.”
“This project is of special importance for the NIOC exploration Department as the employer, so it is necessary to use the knowledge and executive capacities of both parties to be able to complete the project successfully,” he noted.
