Iran’s Annual Sweet Gas Production Increases by 6%

Iran has achieved 6% increase in the annual production of sweet gas despite the lockdowns and obstacles resulted from coronavirus outbreak, National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) cited in a statement on its website.

According to the statement, Deputy Director of Dispatching Operations at NIGC, Ahmed kazemi, is the one who made the announcement during a meeting with the Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani, via a videoconference to present a brief report on NIGC’s dispatching center in the calendar year of 1399 which ended on March 20.

Kazemi added that this increase is equivalent to 15 billion cubic meters and it has been in various sectors, including domestic and commercial, elaborating that the company managed to deliver more than 5 billion meters to power plants as well as more than 3.3 billion cubic meters to major industries including steel, petrochemicals and refineries.

According to Kazemi, Iran has 37 gas platform in South Pars offshore gas field, 20 gas refineries, 39,000 km of transmission lines and 395,000 km of pipelines in the provincial gas distribution networks.
