Iranian Oil Production Increases to 3.3 mmbbl/d: Owji

Iran’s Oil Minister Javad Owji has stated that the country’s oil production has increased recording 3.3 million barrels per day (mmbbl/d), Shana reported.

This came during his talking to the reporters on the sidelines of the Cabinet’s weekly meeting. In addition, he expected that the production will reach 3.4 mmbbl/d at the end of the summer.

The minister noted that Iran’s production did not exceed 2 mmbbl/d when the 13th administration took office, while the current county’s production capacity reaches to 3.8 mmbbl/d.

Regarding electric vehicles, Owji said that the ministry is pursuing to produce them for public transport fleet alongside with the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade in order to reduce pollution.

He added that Oil Ministry will give credit equal to saved fuel on the basis of the Persian Gulf free on board (FOB) price to those who invest in this sector.
