Iran is producing 63 million cubic meters per day (mcm/d) of natural gas and gas condensates from the Gonbadli field, which it shares with Turkmenistan, Mehr News Agency reported.
Daily production from the joint field has a massive role in the sustainability of gas grid supplies in Iran, especially during cold seasons, according to the CEO of Iranian Central Oilfields Company (ICOC) Seyed Mohammadi.
“Oil and Gas Operation Company is the sole producer of oil and gas in eastern and northern parts of [Iran],” Mohammadi commented.
The company plays a big role in providing supplies to the largest underground gas storage tank in the eastern part of Iran.
ICOC was established in 1999 and produces natural gas from 45 fields and crude oil from 31 fields. The company is also responsible for most onshore fields in Iran.
