Iran’s oil production has reached above 3.2 million barrels per day (mmbbl/d) in February 2024, according to the latest report from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).
The EIA report also noted that this is the first time Iran has produced above 3.2 million bbl/d since the US withdrew from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in November 2023.
This record has been maintained for the fourth consecutive month, with Iran producing 3,230 million bbl/d in the first month of 2024.
OPEC’s data showed that Iran’s crude output in February 2024 was 3,148 mmbbl/d, a slight decrease from the previous month, with a decline of 15,000 bbl/d.
In OPEC’s March 2024 report, Iran maintained the position of the organization’s third oil producer in February, and the price of Iranian heavy crude oil increased by 20 cents to $80.34.
