Iran Inaugurates Major Projects in South Pars

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has inaugurated several major gas projects in South Pars region, Shana news agency reported.

The projects included the offshore section of 27 South Pars gas field phases, the first phase of the Siraf Pars export port and two offshore chains of the 14th phase of South Pars gas field.

The offshore section of South Pars covers an area of 3,700 km in the Persian Gulf, producing over 1.8 trillion cubic meter of gas,  in addition to 2.2 billion barrels of valuable gas condensate worth $355 billion.

The current daily gas production of the South pars field reaches 700 million cubic meters.

Additionally, the inaugurated projects included construction, installation and commissioning of four gas production platforms, piping and drilling of 44 wells.
