Following the independence referendum held by the Kurdish Regional Government (KRG) earlier this week, Iran has halted the trade of petroleum products, Zawya reports based on Iranian media.
Turkey has also threatened to cut off the KRG’s crude exports that run through a Turkish pipeline, according to Alsharq Al-Awsat.
On Monday, Iraqi Kurds voted in favor of independence in a non-binding referendum, Al Arabiya reports.
In August, the KRG exported 581,000 barrels per day, Bloomberg reports. According to Reuters, KRG production has increased in September.
