The implementation of new projects in southern Iran has resulted in an increase of approximately 30,000 barrels per day (bbl/d) in the country’s oil production, despite US sanctions aimed at curbing oil exports and the associated revenue for Iran’s government.
Alireza Mota’ali Jahromi, the director of the Khark operational area of the Iranian Offshore Oil Company, announced on Monday that the development project in Abouzar Field, along with the construction and installation of thermal converters in the onshore part of the field, has contributed to the additional production.
Furthermore, Jahromi mentioned that the Well F8-5 of Forouzan Field began production last month and is currently producing around 1,000 bbl/d of oil.
Hamid Hosseini, the spokesman of the Iranian Oil, Gas, and Petrochemical Products Exporters’ Union, stated last month that Iran’s oil production has reached 3.4 million bbl/d, surpassing the previous level of 2.9 million bbl/d.
