IOOC Aims for Enhanced Productivity at Forouzan Field

The Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) has introduced new measures in an attempt to enhance oil production at Forouzan offshore field, according to SHANA.

Mohammad Hossein Karimiha, IOOC’s director of installation, maintains that with the installation of a new residential platform in Forouzan Field, the field’s production would increase as it will create the ability to repair and drill on-site.

This project has been a long time coming with Forouzan’s previous residential platform needing to be replaced 12 years prior. The new residential platform was built in 2012 and in 2015 however, due to the age of its base structure and the weight of the new platform, it was not possible to install a new residential platform on the previous platform.

The most recent Forouzan residential platform weighs 680 tons. It has four floors and 16 rooms with dimensions of 20*14 meters.
