IOCs Consider Bids for Egyptian E&P Bid Rounds

Shell, Apache and Mubadala Petroleum are considering submitting bids in the exploration and production (E&P) bid round that will be launched by the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) for exploration areas in the Western Desert and Nile Delta, Al Mal News reported.

The tender will be launched after receiving approval and a security clearance from the relevant authorities, a source at EGPC said.

The source pointed out that Mubadala Petroleum has not worked in the E&P field in Egypt before. The company has recently joined the sector after it acquired a 10% stake in Zohr natural gas field.

The Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, announced on May 21 the launch of two international tenders for exploration and production (E&P) during 2018, Egypt Oil & Gas reported.

Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) will launch tenders for oil and natural gas E&P activities in 27 concessions.
