Chairman of the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), Waleid Gamal El-Dein, participated in a dialogue session entitled ‘Green Hydrogen and Renewables in Egypt: Investment Prospects for French Companies.’ He was joined by Khaled Abu Bakr, Chairman of TAQA Arabia, alongside a select group of Egyptian and international company officials, leaders, and experts in the field of renewable energy.
The session was held as part of the Egypt-France Business Forum.
Gamal El-Dein emphasized the Egyptian government’s strong commitment to supporting green energy projects, especially in the Suez Canal area, as part of its aspiration to turn Egypt into a regional hub for exporting green fuel, whether via maritime routes or pipelines to Europe.
Sébastien Riez, Schneider Electric’s Cluster President for North East Africa and the Levant, underscored the importance of accelerating green energy development in Egypt. He stressed that achieving efficiency in this field hinges on optimizing four key dimensions: project design, construction, operation, and maintenance.
