On the sidelines of Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES 2024), Huawei has signed two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with Enppi to provide advanced technological solutions in the fields of energy, petroleum, and digital energy.

This will contribute to providing clean, stable, low carbon energy at the lowest costs, in addition to enhancing technical and digital transition among Enppi’s projects.

The first Mou was signed by Joey Deng, CEO of Huawei Egypt Digital Power Business, and Wael Lotfy, the Chairman and Managing Director of Enppi.

Through this MoU, Huawei will contribute to providing the latest digital technologies which will enable the transition to digital and clean energy in Egypt to create a more sustainable future. This includes the provision of smart photovoltaic energy solutions, which work to develop and improve new resources of energy such as solar energy. It also involves establishing smart infrastructures for data centers based entirely on integrated and smart storage units.

A second MoU was also signed between Josh Zhao, Managing Director of the Energy Business Unit at Huawei Egypt, and Wael Lotfy, the Chairman and Managing Director of Enppi.

It aims to boost digital and technological transition among Enppi projects by merging the expertise and smart technologies offered by Huawei.

For his part, Lotfy expressed his pride for its cooperation with Huawei, which can achieve sustainable development goals, indicating that Enppi pays great attention to localize the latest technologies, work on applying digital transition, and exert more efforts to establish energy transition projects and supporting its efficiency, and enhancing digital and green energy production.

“We consider Huawei a major partner in providing the latest solutions, digital technologies, and modern smart solutions to accelerate the pace of digital transformation in the energy sector, and enhance the production of digital and green energy, in line with the strategic goals of the energy sector with Egypt’s 2030 vision,” Lotfy stated.

Additionally, Deng expressed his happiness in cooperating with the leading company Enppi, and their joint endeavor to achieve sustainable development goals and reduce carbon emissions.

“In light of the increasing reliance on clean energy in the world, Egypt has demonstrated its commitment to reducing emissions by 33% in the electricity sector and 65% in the petroleum sector by 2030,” Deng said. “Huawei is keen to provide the latest technological solutions that contribute to achieving sustainable development goals in the petroleum field as well as support and promote digital and green energy using Huawei’s latest technologies in artificial intelligence (AI) and the internet of things (IoT). Our vision is to accelerate the digital transformation of the energy sector and create a smart, decarbonized world.”

For his part, Zhao stated, “Huawei, as a reliable partner for companies operating in the oil and gas sector in Egypt, will continue to provide innovative information communication technology (ICT) solutions to help all companies digitize their internal operations, business models and services. We look forward to providing them with the latest our technologies and solutions that work to increase productivity and reduce carbon emissions.”
