StrataStar™, a multilayer visualization service that provides multilayer data visualization, is a new service from Haliburton designed to maximize well contact with the reservoir and improve real-time reserves evaluation.

In addition to providing improved drilling performance and consistent well performance, the StrataStar service adds Artificial Intelligence capabilities to Halliburton’s iStar™ intelligent drilling and logging platform. In order to determine where a well should be drilled, StrataStar acquires real-time measurements and visualizations of fluids and geology surrounding the wellbore up to 30 feet. Using a sophisticated algorithm application, it accurately maps the position, thickness, and resistivity of interbedded rocks and fluid layers to stay within defined boundaries.

Aside from its superior depth of investigation, StrataStar delivers a high-fidelity picture of the reservoir, as well as a comprehensive understanding of reservoir resistivity, including anisotropy, according to Halliburton Vice President of Sperry Drilling Jim Collins.

As a result, Halliburton can place wells in the most productive zones to maximize asset value faster and more accurately.
