Halliburton, one of the leading oil and gas innovative companies, has been awarded an Integrated Drilling Services (IDS) contract, from Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCo), in partnership with Sunlink Energies, for operations in Oil Mining Lease (OML) 144, offshore Nigeria. The contract supports the development of the HI gas field, which will feed gas to the Nigeria LNG Train 7 project.
Under the agreement, Halliburton’s Project Management team will oversee execution and integrate multiple services to deliver a full end-to-end drilling solution. Leveraging its global expertise in complex offshore projects and its strong operational track record in Nigeria, Halliburton aims to help achieve the HI Project’s production and efficiency goals.
The contract marks a new milestone in the long-standing partnership between Halliburton and Shell in Nigeria’s upstream sector. Both companies reaffirmed their commitment to operational excellence, advanced technology deployment, and sustainable value creation in the country’s oil and gas industry.
Halliburton’s Nigerian operations are headquartered in Port Harcourt, with additional bases in Warri and Lagos. The company has played a major role in supporting deepwater projects such as Bonga, Erha, and Agbami, working with operators like Shell, ExxonMobil, and Chevron. Through its long presence, Halliburton has contributed to local content development, workforce training, and technology transfer in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
