GUPCO Hosts the First Field Workshop for EOG 2025 Convention

Field engineers representing 15 companies operating in the Eastern Desert and the Gulf of Suez gathered at the Ras Shoukair base on September 9th and 10th to exchange best practices used in the area and share personal experiences in overcoming operational challenges on the ground.

The gathering, hosted by Ras Shoukair base’s operator Gulf of Suez Petroleum Company (GUPCO), marked the first in a series of three technical workshops that are part of Egypt Oil & Gas Group’s 11th Convention, scheduled for November. The outcomes and insights from these workshops will be presented and discussed during the convention. The Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) played a key role in supporting the workshop’s development and coordination.

The workshop opened with speeches from Tamer Idris, Deputy Chairman for Production at the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), and Abdul Wahab El-Maghawry, Chairman of GUPCO.  Presentations were delivered by field engineers of GUPCO, Gemsa Petroleum Company (Gempetco), Eshpetco, and Petrobakr. Other participating companies included Al Amal Petroleum Company (Amapetco), PetroGulf, and PetroAmir.

Guests of the workshop included Ahmed Mostafa, Chairman of Petronefertiti, and Khaled AbdelSalam, Chairman of Esh El Mallaha Petroleum Company (Eshpetco).

The second and third workshops are to be held at Al Gameel base in Port Said and Al Maleeha base in the Western Desert, respectively.
