The General Trade Union for Petroleum Workers (GTUPW) has launched a mobile application that is the first of its kind among unions in Egypt, according to Nashwa El Sherif, GTUPW’s Media Center Deputy Chair, El Watan newspaper reported.

The application follows the petroleum sector updates, as well as state and national news, El Sherif added, noting that the application includes an offers section that shows discounts that workers could enjoy in many partner shops and hospitals.

It will also feature services offered by the union to the sector professionals and sports updates, with more content planned to be launched in the future, including video galleries, opinion articles, and technology news, as the application will be another online portal for GUPTW, similar to its official website.
