Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla and Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir witnessed the signing of a five-year cooperation protocol between the General Authority for the Golden Triangle Economic Zone (GTEZ) and the General Authority for the Implementation of Industrial and Mining Projects.

The protocol is for the provision of consulting services for engineering works and technical requirements for projects within the economic zone of the Golden Triangle.

The geological agreement was signed by Adel Saeed, GTEZ’s Chairman, and Tayseer Mamdouh, Head of the General Authority for the Implementation of Industrial and Mining Projects.

The agreement comes within the framework of the government’s keenness to provide all means of support for the Golden Triangle project, as it is one of the major national projects that serve the southern region of Egypt, in addition to its sustainable development and advantageous location.

Saeed explained that the Golden Triangle project is located in the eastern desert on an area of ​​more than 2.2 million acres between Qena, Qeft, Safaga and Qusayr, where the Golden Triangle includes industrial, mining, tourism, agricultural and commercial areas.

Moreover, Saeed stated that the authority is moving forward in taking steps to cooperate with various institutions to benefit from the elements that the region includes, pointing out that it contains a lot of industrial, logistical, tourism and archaeological sites.

For his part, Mamdouh explained that the role of the agency under the agreement is to implement consulting services for engineering works and technical requirements for projects determined by the authority, which includes conducting inspections, studies, designs and preparing documents.
