Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi has inaugurated the Mediterranean Offshore Conference (MOC) today, on October 20th.
MOC’s new edition returns this year to be held in Alexandria under the slogan ‘Mapping the Future of Mediterranean Energy: Optimizing Exploration, Development, and Production with Decarbonization Technologies for a Sustainable Tomorrow.”
The event takes place over three days, in the presence of George Papanastasiou, Cypriot Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry; Aristotelis Aivaliotis, Greek Secretary General for Energy and Mineral Resources; and the Secretaries of a number of major international organizations in the field of energy and natural gas.
Badawi highlighted the importance of the MOC conference, as a leading technical platform that addresses all regional energy activities, brings together stakeholders, and attracts interested parties to explore the enormous energy potential of the Mediterranean region.
The minister stated that MOC is a unique opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences, establish partnerships, and learn about new and innovative solutions to the challenges facing the energy industry.
The conference activities include several main sessions that bring together energy industry leaders, executives, international organizations, investors and global companies, focusing on practical ways to cooperate in investing in the energy potential of the Mediterranean.
