The Egyptian International Gas Technology (Gastec) owns 52% of the market share of the total natural gas sales for cars, Amwal Al Ghad reported.
The number of cars capable of running on natural gas has increased significantly over the past period, with conversion rates reaching around 4314 cars in 2017, Gastec head Abdel Fattah Farahat stated.
The company has successfully converted around 110,000 cars since their operations began, Faraht said. He further explained that the sales of natural gas for cars reached 191.6 million cubic meters in 2017.
Farahat pointed out the importance of converting vehicles to natural gas, which will decrease benzene imports and be cheaper for citizens.
