The government will publish its executive regulations for the new gas-market law in February, the Minster of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarel El Molla, said, Amwal Al Ghad reports.

By encouraging investments in Egypt’s natural gas sector, the law—Law Number 196 for 2017— increases Egypt’s chance to become a regional energy hub, El Molla said.

“It will increase direct and indirect investments in the Egyptian economy and create new job opportunities,” the minister stated.

The new gas-market law was signed by President Abd El Fattah El Sisi in August.
