Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla reviewed the efforts of the South Valley Egyptian Petroleum Holding Company (GANOPE) to bring the total crude oil production of GANOPE and its subsidiaries to about 40,000 barrels per day (bbl/d) by the middle of next year.
This effort is being made in cooperation with the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), according to a statement from the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.
The report reviewed the company’s plans to expand the drilling of exploratory wells after conducting the necessary technical studies for them, including North Jessom-3 GNN-3 in Jessom and the Tawila fields west of the Gulf of Suez, which contributed to raising production rates. This is in addition to drilling a number of wells in the concession areas, which are currently being evaluated in preparation for placing them on the production map.
The report also indicated that the second phase of the three-dimensional seismic data collection project has been completed in the concession areas in the Red Sea, which showed oil reservoirs and promising opportunities in the region and will result in intensified drilling operations for a number of exploratory wells after the final processing of the data.
