The Egyptian Minister of Finance, and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB)’s Egyptian Governor, Amr El Jarhi, will meet AIIB’s Chairman for Policies and Strategies, Uh Akim von Amsberg, and his accompanying delegation, reported Al Mal News.
The high level delegation of senior officials of AIIB is visiting Cairo upon an invitation received from the Egyptian side.
Amr El Jarhi stated that the delegation’s visit is the first one from the Asian Bank since the bank’s establishment in 2015, adding that the delegation aims at examining the investment opportunities present in Egypt and to review the various mechanisms in order to finance some of the Egyptian projects in the infrastructure sector, which Egypt currently focuses on.
Additionally, El Jarhi pointed out that the visit also aims to identify and agree on projects that the bank can contribute to financing during the coming period.
