ExxonMobil Egypt announced that it has signed a cooperation protocol with Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation, a press release reported.
According to the agreement, ExxonMobil will support the foundation to qualify and prepare a competent nursing staff, providing exceptional training opportunities complying with the latest global health care methods.
On this occasion, Youssef Hafez, Public and Government Affairs Manager of ExxonMobil Egypt expressed his pleasure with this cooperation which affirms ExxonMobil Egypt’s corporate social responsibility, stating “Hand in hand with Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation, we promote nursing staff’s qualifications, reinforcing the foundation’s noble mission to provide free state-of-the-art service.
“Through this esteemed initiative, we hope to see a new generation of Egyptian health care providers who thrive with medicine, curing more children with heart diseases in Egypt and the Arab World,” Hafez added.
Additionally, Dina El-Gazzar, Vice President for Development and Fundraising at Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation, appreciated such action from ExxonMobil to help in qualifying nursing staff, elaborating “The center employs 80% of participants in the training course, leveraging their acquired scientific and practical experience. As the private sector’s role is vital for the center to offer multiple opportunities, we extend our gratitude to ExxonMobil Egypt for its valuable contributions enriching the health sector in Egypt.”
It is worth mentioning that Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides free exceptional medical services in Egypt and the Arab world, treating cardiovascular diseases. Magdi Yacoub Global Heart Center Cairo, is expected to be inaugurated by 2023, and will operate with a patient capacity of over 120,000 annually, providing 12k surgeries, 60% are for children.
