Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi has held a meeting with John Ardill, Vice President of Global Exploration at ExxonMobil.
The meeting discussed the company’s activities in Egypt and its expansion plans in light of the company’s desire to work in a number of new concession areas and its efforts to achieve successes in the field of research and exploration similar to what was achieved in the field of transportation and distribution of petroleum products.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of Badawi’s participation in the Gastech 2024 Conference in Houston, USA.
During the meeting, Badawi highlighted the new incentive package that was launched with the aim of encouraging increased production of crude oil and natural gas, in addition to additional investment opportunities in the fields of research, exploration and field development in open areas through the Egypt Upstream Gateway.
For his part, Ardill reviewed the progress of the seismic research program that the company is conducting in its concession areas in Egypt, covering an area of approximately 10,000 square kilometers.
