The Egyptian Ethylene and Derivatives Company (ETHYDCO) awarded a consortium of Saipem and Petrojet a contract for the first polybutadiene plant in Egypt valued at $150 million, according to a statement.
The plant will comprise one production train of Low Cis Butadiene Rubber and related facilities and is expected to have a production capacity of 36,000 tons per year. Both Saipem and Petrojet will be responsible for the detailed engineering design, procurement, the supply of equipment and materials, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning up to successful start-up and performance testing
