Egyptian Petrochemicals Company (EPC) produced around 78,000 tons of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) in FY 2025/26 while increasing exports to 24,000 tons as the company expanded sales into African and Latin American markets.

The results came during EPC’s general assembly, chaired by Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, to approve the company’s FY 2025/26 results.

Badawi called on EPC to continue developing its assets and making greater use of available production capacity to increase output and the value of its petrochemical products. He also stressed reducing costs, improving energy efficiency and increasing local manufacturing.

EPC Chairman Ahmed Mowakea said the company also produced around 125,000 tons of caustic soda during the year. Production across the company increased by around 17% compared with the previous year, supported by the availability of production inputs, preventive maintenance and improved operating efficiency.

EPC achieved around EGP 120 million in savings during the year. The company is also carrying out 80 projects and operations with total investments of around EGP 1.5 billion to develop its assets and production facilities.

The results follow EPC’s plans announced in January to expand its PVC production capacity. The company had completed a feasibility study for a new production line with an annual capacity of 120,000 tons.

At the time, EPC reported PVC production of 41,000 tons during H1 FY 2025/26, its highest level in five years, while caustic soda output reached its planned target of 60,000 tons. Badawi attributed higher production partly to the consistent supply of ethane-rich natural gas feedstock.
