EOG-HSE Subcommittee Sets 2020 Agenda

The EOG-HSE Subcommittee convened on February 25 at Halliburton’s premises in Katameya to discuss the 2020 HSE agenda.

Colby Fuser, Halliburton Vice President – Egypt and Libya, headed the meeting where the subcommittee addressed health, safety, and environment (HSE) topics including HSE practices and guidelines, as well as strategies to improve and promote the HSE culture. The subcommittee also discussed methodologies to raise HSE awareness among professionals in the oil and gas sector, such as creating an HSE Ramadan Campaign.

The committee discussed the actions needed to roll out a digital platform, which allows the EGPC and all companies to capture, visualize, and take action toward preventive measures to eliminate incidents with focus on leading indicators.  In addition to this, the members set actions in place for the 2020 HSE awareness campaign with the universities with the next HSE day set for the American University of Cairo in March to help raise awareness of HSE practices among young professionals.

The meeting was attended by Gamal Fathy, CEO Assistant at the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC); Salah Abdelkareem; Chairman & Managing Director at Badr Petroleum Company (Bapetco); Wael Abdel Ghany, Intelligent Safety Solutions (ISS) CEO; Hatem Bashandy, HSEQ Area Manager at Halliburton; Dalia Tawfik, Egypt Business Manager at Wild Well; Ahmed Abdelhakam, HSE Manager at Apache; and other prominent figures.
