ENOC Purchases India’s Naphtha

The Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) has purchased 35,000 tonnes of naphtha from India’s Oil and National Gas Corporation (ONGC), according to trade sources, Reuters reported.

ENOC was awarded the tender of selling the cargo scheduled for loading in April 1-2 from Mumbai at a premium of $20 to $21 per tonne to Middle East quotes on a free-on-board (FOB) basis.

The trade transaction is considered a rare one for ENOC as the company does not regularly buy naphtha from the Indian market. The last trade transaction between ENOC and ONGS for Mumbai loading was in H1 of 2009, although ENOC purchased naphtha from Indian Oil Corporation in 2016.
