Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi has met with Martina Opizzi, Head of North Africa and the Levant at Eni and her accompanying delegation, to review the activities and work programs of the Italian company in Egypt.
They also looked into the progress of the company in its concession areas for oil and gas exploration and production, within the framework of reviewing the steps of cooperation during the current year that is about to end, as well as the joint efforts to push work forward during the new year.
Badawi welcomed Opizzi and the accompanying delegation, praising the strategic partnership between the Egyptian petroleum sector and Eni, which extends for more than 70 years, and the pivotal role of the company in pumping investments to develop gas and oil resources in Egypt, stressing the importance of building on the positive steps that have been implemented in recent months within the framework of the partnership between the two parties.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed Eni’s operation program within the framework of the petroleum sector’s plan to increase production rates, and reviewed the work in the company’s various concession areas in the Mediterranean, Western Desert, Delta and Sinai.
They also discussed joint future steps within the framework of working to increase reserves and production of oil and gas.
