Eneos Chairman Tsutomu Sugimori announced that his company has halted purchasing Russian crude oil after the invasion of Ukraine, Reuters reported.

However, Sugimori elaborated that Eneos will keep contracts that were signed before the war and are expected to arrive in Japan around April without any financial and shipment issues.

Previously, the US has released a decision of banning Russian oil imports in addition to other energy resources. This was decision was part of a US-led effort to sanction Russia for its invasion of Ukraine.
