ENAP Sipetrol Aims to Expand Business Portfolio, Enhance Investments in Egypt’s Oil and Gas Sector

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla has met with Roberto Ebert, the Chilean Ambassador to Cairo; Julio Friedmann, CEO of Chile’s ENAP Sipetrol; and Denisse Abudinén, Chief Executive of ENAP Sipetrol and Managing Director of the company in Egypt.

The meeting discussed the company’s activities and future plans in Egypt, focusing on areas of operation in the Western and Eastern Deserts.

During the meeting, El Molla highlighted the successful partnership between the petroleum sector and the company  to unleash the potential of petroleum resources in Egypt and the existing cooperation, which represents a model of serious and fruitful cooperation.

The minister pointed to the available investment opportunities and the potential that Egypt enjoys in the field of oil and gas and the areas in which this cooperation can be expanded to achieve the goals of both sides.

El Molla praised ENAP Sipetrol’s desire to acquire new concession areas, intensify research and exploration operations, increase production, and pump additional investments into the Egyptian petroleum sector.

For his part, Friedmann explained that the company has been operating in Egypt since 1998 and currently has operations in the Western Desert in the East Ras Al Qattara Concession and in the Eastern Desert in the West Amer Concession.

Friedmann pointed out the company’s commitment to working in Egypt and increasing production, and that the company’s strategic plan aims to expand its business portfolio in Egypt and enhance its investments in light of the good results it has achieved.

Additionally, Friedmann pointed to the company’s extensive experience and the advanced technology it possesses in the field of research and exploration, noting the company’s desire to contribute to economic growth and sustainable development and enhance its position as a strategic partner in the petroleum sector in Egypt.

Friedmann further pointed to the company’s social contribution activities in its areas of operation by providing training programs and workshops for residents of neighboring areas, restoration operations for schools and residential buildings, as well as providing medical equipment and supplies to hospitals.
