The Egyptian government executed many projects worth EGP 500 billion in the electricity sector, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi clarified during the “Ask the President” session held on July 31 as part of the National Youth Conference, Ahram gate reported.
The President praised the developments in the electricity sector which enabled the country to achieve a surplus of 25,000 Megawatts (MW) after the several cutouts witnessed during 2013 and 2014.
Egypt’s electricity sector have implemented several achievement, including the renewal of decaying networks, inclusive change for electrical transportation and distribution grids, the establishment of power stations using the latest technological systems, as well as taking vital steps towards implementing Dabaa nuclear plant and using renewables as an electricity source.
It is worth noting that the government succeeded in implementing massive expansion projects under the guidance of the President who dealt with overcoming the electricity crisis and achieving the sustainability goals.
