Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has signed into law legislation that allows Minister of Petroleum Tarek El Molla to sign an agreement with both the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and Apache East Bahariya Corporation LDC, Al Ahram reported.

Law no. 155 of 2018 allows the agreement which will amend the oil exploration and production (E&P) agreement issued by law no. 9 of 1996, related to exploration activities in the East Bahariya concession in the Western Desert.

The agreement was previously amended per law number 155 of year 2009.
