The Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El Sisi, met with the CEO of Russia’s State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM, Alexey Likhachev, to discuss Egypt’s plans for a nuclear power plant at El Dabaa, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.
El Sisi stated that Egypt is eager to cooperate with ROSATOM in the construction of the El Dabaa plant and hopes to draw on its nuclear energy expertise.
He also added that the government is looking to finalize contracts for the project soon.
Likhachev emphasized the importance of the project to ROSATOM and said that the company hopes to begin work on it shortly.
ROSACOM is a Russian energy company that specializes in nuclear energy production.
