Egyptian Minister of Petroleum, Tarek El Molla, and Jordan’s Energy Minister, Hala Zawati, launched a natural gas development project in the main compressor station in Aqaba City to enable natural gas trade between the two countries, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.
The station has four natural gas compressors with a maximum capacity of 22 MegaWatt (MW).
The two ministers made an inspection tour at the compressor site, where they praised the recent technologies used by Jordanian Egyptian FAJR for Natural Gas Transmission and Supply Company and followed up on the operations that ensure the pipeline’s efficacy.
This came as El Molla visited Jordan where he reviewed the joint strategic projects that secure and diversify energy sources between the two countries.
