Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla met with Jean Philippe Torres, Senior Vice President of TotalEnergies Marketing & Services in Africa, to review the international company’s strategy to expand its marketing and distribution activities for petroleum products within the local market.

During the meeting, El Molla highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation with TotalEnergies, as it is a leading company that has the expertise and capacity to make a major contribution to marketing fuels and vehicle lubricants in Egypt.

El Molla said that the ministry welcomes new investments in these activities, especially since Egypt is a large and growing market that enjoys unique investment opportunities with the great urban expansion witnessed by the country. He also praised the new station that was opened for the company a few days ago in a vital area near the Grand Egyptian Museum, which represents a model for developing high-level services for fuel consumers.

Meanwhile, Torres expressed his appreciation for the current partnership with Egypt, emphasizing that the company is keen to develop bilateral cooperation in the distribution of high-quality fuels and oils.

Torres stated that Egypt is an important center for the company’s investments in the African continent in the field of high-quality oils and a gateway to all African markets.
