Towards the end of EGYPES 2024, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, held a session of talks with Eugene Okpere, Shell’s Executive Vice President for Exploration, Strategy & Portfolio.
The talks were attended by Raul Maas, the company’s Vice President for Eastern Mediterranean Gas Projects; Dalia El Gabry, Vice President and Country Chair of Shell Egypt; Magdy Galal, President of the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS); and Samir Raslan, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Exploration and Supervisor of Agreements.
The discussion reviewed the status of the company’s business and projects in Egypt, its future plans in the field of research and exploration, and its aspiration to obtain new concession areas as part of its endeavor to increase production.
El Molla stated that Shell is one of the strategic partners in the petroleum sector, and there has been cooperation and successes with it over the past years in various petroleum activities.
The minister highlighted the importance of accelerating development work by intensifying drilling programs for a number of wells using the latest technologies to speed up their production.
For his part, Okpere pointed out Shell’s pride in the strong relationship with the petroleum sector and its commitment to enhancing joint cooperation, highlighting the company’s aspiration to achieve new discoveries during the coming period.
Meanwhile, El Gabry explained that there is confidence in the Egyptian petroleum sector, and there are still attractive opportunities for the company’s investments in light of the proven gas potential.
El Gabry added that there is fruitful cooperation with EGAS and partners Eni and Petronas to complete the work on time.
