A press release to Egypt Oil&Gas stated that Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, attended the 9th meeting of the Higher Committee for following up on the development of Zohr field project.
The meeting was attended by Ministry’s First Undersecretary for Gas Affairs, the Ministry’s First Undersecretary for Agreements and Exploration, the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation’s (EGPC) CEO, the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company’s (EGAS) CEO, EGAS and EGPC’ Vice Presidents, Petrojet’s CEO, Enppi’s CEO, Petrobel’s CEO, BP’s Regional Manager, Hesham Mekawy, and Eni’s Executive Manager of Operations, Antonio Vella, and Executive Vice President North Africa at Eni, Adriano Mongini.
During the meeting, El Molla reviewed the construction work in Zohr as 71% of the project was completed in May 2017.
The Zohr gas fields will start production through three phases. The first will be launched by the end of 2017 with production capacity of 1bcf/d. After the all seven fields are complete, production will raise to 2.7bcm/d in 2019.
Petrojet has finished manufacturing the maritime field control station, which is being installed by Petroleum Marine Services Company.
