Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla held two periodic meetings via video-conference with chairmen and officials from a number of petroleum production companies in the Eastern and Western Deserts.
The companies included Alamein Petroleum Company, El Waha Petroleum Company (OWAPCO), Marina Petroleum Company in the Western Desert, the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), the General Petroleum Company (GPC), Al Fanar Petroleum, Magawish Petroleum Company, Wadi El Sahl Petroleum Company (Waspetco), and Petro Amir.
The meeting reviewed the progress of implementing production programs for companies that operate according to an integrated plan.
El Molla highlighted the importance of coordination and integration between the group of companies in each region to implement and accelerate the approved production plans, which contribute to increasing production and mitigating challenges.
This helps in achieving program objectives to increase production, which is the main and vital aim of the sector.
The two meetings witnessed a review and study of the current production status of each company and the challenges facing the implementation of work plans and the measures taken to overcome them.
Additionally, they reviewed what has been achieved in the field of increasing production rates from productive wells, plans for drilling and repairing wells, and efforts to restore production from closed wells.
Moreover, the meetings tackled efforts to achieve joint integration between companies and the results that were achieved through it.
