During his visit to Alexandria, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla held a meeting to follow up on the progress of implementing new projects to increase production and raise operational efficiency at the Middle East Oil Refinery (MIDOR).
The meeting reviewed developments and efforts at the MIDOR refinery to increase production capacity by 60%. During the meeting, El Molla confirmed that the Ministry is working to continuously monitor the progress of work in this project, and adherence to the time programs for its implementation.
El Molla highlighted the importance and speed of coordination between the company and other parties in working to overcome any challenges to ensure the implementation of the final stages of it according to the scheduled time programs.
El Molla stressed the necessity of applying technological means and unconventional ideas to reduce costs and working in parallel to invest in the human element and raise its efficiency.
During the meeting, the minister discussed with the company’s officials the procedures for completing and operating the new units in the expansion of the refinery’s production capacity
The company’s Chairman Salah Gaber reviewed the ongoing work program to complete the expansions, current implementation rates, and targeted measures to operate the new production units for high-value petroleum products after the completion of implementation of all stages of the project.
