El Molla Praises Schlumberger’s Contributions to Egypt’s Oil, Gas Sector

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla met with Schlumberger’s CEO Olivier Le Peuch where they discussed the company’s activities in Egypt, particularly the two seismic survey projects in the Red Sea and Gulf of Suez regions.

The meeting further discussed the company’s effective contribution to the launch of the Egypt Upstream Gateway (EUG), as well as its participation in human cadres training programs in the petroleum sector and providing the latest technologies and digital solutions to support the petroleum industry in Egypt.

During the meeting, El Molla stated that Schlumberger is a strategic partner for the petroleum sector and has contributed to achieving many successes recently,

He noted that the EUG is one of the fruits of the Modernization project and is in line with the government’s digital transformation vision for the sector due to its advanced technologies. These technologies facilitated the process of placing bid rounds and providing the geological data required by foreign companies to make investment decisions.

The minister also confirmed that the company has active contributions in the field of cadres training due to the scientific and practical training programs it provides for workers in the petroleum sector participating in the middle management program.

Le Peuch stated that Egypt enjoys an advantage in the company’s business portfolio due to its attractive investment opportunities in the field of oil and gas, and in light of the successes that have been achieved in recent years. He further indicated that Schlumberger is proud of its contributions to the petroleum sector in Egypt, especially the provision of advanced technologies, and seeks to expand its business portfolio in Egypt during the coming period.
