El Molla Praises Cooperation Between MoPMR, Faculty of Engineering, MSRC

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla met with Hossam Abdel Fattah, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Cairo University, and El-Sayed El-Tayeb, Director of the Mining Studies & Research Center (MSRC) at the Faculty of Engineering.

The meeting comes within the framework of continuous work and cooperation between the Ministry and the Faculty to develop and continuously update scientific curricula and relate then to practical applications.

El Molla highlighted the importance of continuous cooperation with the Faculty and the center and strengthening their capabilities in proportion to the role assigned to them to graduate competent engineers who will build on what is being accomplished.

The minister pointed out that continuing to train and refine the skills of the human element is a major priority for the Egyptian state.

The mining sector is currently taking off, needing specialized cadres that contribute strongly to the implementation of mining strategies that have succeeded in attracting global specialized entities that have the solvency, experience and technology that is needed to increase the mining sector’s contribution to the national economy and train our students and engineers on it.

Abdel Fattah highlighted the openness of the Faculty of Engineering to everything that contributes to developing and raising the efficiency of graduates and making them qualified for the labor market and to represent a real addition to it.

Therefore, the Faculty is keen to open channels of communication with all sectors to benefit from its capabilities and provide the necessary training to its students to gain practical experience. It is also keen to constantly develop its curricula to keep pace with developments and the continuous development of industries and technology.

The two sides agreed to form a higher committee that includes a number of leaders from the petroleum and mining sector, along with professors from the college and the center, to work continuously to develop and modernize cooperation between the two sides in a way that serves the common goals of raising the efficiency and quality of scientific curricula.
