El Molla Participates in MENA Europe Future Energy Dialogue in Jordan

In Jordan’s Dead Sea area, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla participated in a high-level ministerial discussion session at the conclusion of the second day of the MENA Europe Future Energy Dialogue (MEFED 2022).

Held under the patronage of the Jordanian Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah, this regional event, which was organized by Jordan and Germany, witnessed the participation of 700 regional and European officials. It aimed to open new horizons for energy cooperation between the Middle East, North Africa and Europe, and establish the infrastructure for green hydrogen production.

During the ministerial session, countries discussed the global challenges they are facing, including the recovery from the coronavirus pandemic, the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, and climate change, in addition to exploring ways for countries to transition to clean energy while maintaining energy security.

Egypt’s participation in this high-level regional meeting is based on its strategic role in the oil and gas industry in the region, according to Tarek El Molla. Egypt also seeks to strengthen relations, coordinate activities with other countries active in the global economy and promote policies that support economic growth. This is important for investing in the energy sector despite challenges and successive events worldwide, El Molla added.
