El Molla, OAPEC Secretary General Review 12th Arab Energy Conference Preparations

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla met with Jamal Issa al Loughani, the new Secretary General of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC), and they discussed the latest preparations for the 12th edition of the Arab Energy Conference, which is set to be held in Qatar, during December 11-12, 2023.

Al-Loughani reviewed the general framework for developing the organization’s work mechanisms in light of the successive changes taking place in the global oil industry and its impact on petroleum industries within the organization’s member states.

El Molla stressed Egypt’s support for efforts to develop the organization’s work mechanisms and strengthen cooperation frameworks among the member states of the organization, which was established in 1968. The minister further expresses support for the organization’s objectives represented in supporting members’ cooperation in various aspects of the petroleum industry.

The organization includes 10 Arab member states, including the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait, Libya and Egypt.
