A press release to Egypt Oil&Gas stated that Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, met with Belarusian Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, Andrei Kovkhuto.
During the meeting, the two ministers discussed means of promoting investment cooperation in the fields of petroleum, natural gas and mineral resources.
El Molla pointed out the deeply-rooted relations between the two countries adding that Egypt is welcoming co-working with Belarus and is interested in sharing expertise, especially as Belarus has prominent experience in the oil and gas industry.
Meanwhile, Kovkhuto explained his country’s keenness on enhancing cooperation with Egypt in the fields of seismic survey, drilling technology and pipelines.
Kovkhuto further stated that Egypt is one of Belarus’ main partners in the Arab world and Africa.
Early May, Belarus intended to cooperate with Sudan and Egypt in the extraction of natural resources. There was plans to discuss a broad range of matters concerning the advancement of bilateral cooperation with Sudan and Egypt, in particular the participation of Belarusian organizations and companies in projects to find, survey, and extract oil deposits in Sudan and drill artesian wells in Egypt.
