A press release to Egypt Oil&Gas stated that the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, met with the Norwegian Ambassador to Egypt, Sten Arne Rosnes, to discuss aspects of cooperation in the activities of the oil and natural gas industry.
During the meeting, El Molla stated that the economic reform program, which is adopted by the government, the investment law, and the law regulating the gas market will serve the economic and development plans and help attract more investments and achieve sustainable development.
El Molla pointed out that the cornerstone of the petroleum sector is being open to global and regional experience and expertise in the field of oil and natural gas, including serving the labor system and the national economy. The minister added that Egypt’s ongoing commitment to the modernization and development of the skills of the petroleum cadre and the desire for enhanced cooperation with partners to attract new investments.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Rosnes said that his country appreciates Egypt’s significant reforms to the investment climate, adding that Norwegian oil investors are interested in the available investment opportunities in the areas of oil and natural gas. They also reviewed the experiences and the technologies of Norwegian companies, allowing them to expand their investments in the Egyptian oil sector.
Moreover, El Molla, met with Belgian Ambassador to Egypt, Sibille de Cartier, to discuss operational and technical cooperation between Belgian IOCs and the oil and gas sector. The meeting further discussed investing opportunities in improving energy sufficiency.
