Minister of Petroleum, Tarek El Molla, met with Schlumberger and BP’s CEOs to discuss the status of joint projects between the Egyptian oil and gas sector and both international oil companies (IOCs), which further boost oil and gas activities in Egypt.
The meetings took place on the sidelines of the CERAWeek in Houston.
The attendees talked about Schlumberger’s future vision in Egypt and its plans to implement the latest technologies, especially after opening the biggest compound that provides services and activities across the world.
The meeting further reviewed the cooperation in offering training programs and developing human resources in the Egyptian oil and gas sector.
El Molla further met with BP’s CEO, Bob Dudley, to discuss the company’s work in the Mediterranean after establishing the second phase of the West Nile Delta development and a natural gas production project.
The two parties agreed on maximizing efforts to add the third phase of the project, the Raven field, to the production map before the end of 2019 in order to add 900 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscf/d) to Egypt’s natural gas output.
