El Molla Meets Akh Gold, Ebdaa Gold Companies’ Officials

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, held a meeting with AKH Gold Company officials, which included Vincent Morel, the regional and geological director, Ahmed Salama, exploration supervisor in Egypt.

AKH Gold participated in the International Gold bid round No. (1) for the year 2020 in its first and second rounds. In the first round, it signed 4 contracts for research covering the areas of (Wadi Dobr, Wadi al-Jindi, Jabal al-Shaloul, and Jabal Umm Arada) with a total area of ​​about 1,566 km.

In the second round, the company also won two sectors for the areas of Bir Asl and Jabal al-Mit, with an area of ​​about 350 square kilometers.

The Minister also held a meeting with a delegation from Ebdaa Gold Mines Company, which included Mohamed Mamdouh, Chairman of the company, and Engineer Mohamed Abdallah, Director of Operations, to review its efforts in the concession area.

The meeting was held in light of Ebdaa’s participation in the International Gold Bid Round No. (1) for the year 2020 in its first round, and obtaining a search area of ​​105 square kilometers in the Jabal Al-Shehimiya area in the Eastern Desert.

El Molla explained during the meetings that Egypt, which succeeded in amending the Mineral Resources Law, issuing its executive regulations, and launching international bids within the framework of the amended law, has succeeded in attracting diverse investments and is working to localize a sustainable mining industry with modern technologies and advanced laboratories in partnership with serious entities.

The minister pointed to the importance of developing infrastructure in Egypt as a distinct investment attraction factor.

El Molla stated that these meetings and tours of mining sites on a regular basis come within the framework of open dialogue with all experts, investors, and those interested in the mining industry, during which we stress that this is the time of success for serious investment in the mining industry in Egypt.
